Day-by-Day Itinerary
- Day 1
Paro to Shana
Drive and trek along the Paro Chhu into Jigme Dorji National Park.
- Day 2
Shana to Soi Thangthangkha
A long forested climb with first views of the surrounding peaks.
- Day 3
Soi Thangthangkha to Jangothang
Trek to the Jomolhari base camp area with the mountain now in full view.
- Day 4
Acclimatization day at Jangothang
Rest and optional side hikes toward Jichu Drakye base camp.
- Day 5
Jangothang to Lingshi
Cross Nyile La, the trek’s highest point, descending toward Lingshi Dzong.
- Day 6
Lingshi to Shodu
Traverse Yeli La with panoramic views before descending toward Shodu.
- Day 7
Shodu to Barshong
Follow the Thimphu Chhu downstream through rhododendron forest.
- Day 8
Barshong to Dolam Kencho
Continue the descent along the river valley toward the trek’s end.
- Day 9
Dolam Kencho to Thimphu
Final short trek to the road head and transfer into Thimphu.
