Getting to Bhutan

Bhutan is reached almost exclusively by air into Paro, with a small number of land border crossings for regional travelers.

By air

Paro International Airport is Bhutan’s only international airport and one of the most scenic approaches in the world, with the flight path weaving between Himalayan peaks. Flights connect through regional hubs.

By land

Regional travelers, particularly Indian nationals, can enter overland through border towns such as Phuntsholing, Gelephu or Samdrup Jongkhar. This route is less common for international leisure travelers.
