HAA

Situated in western Bhutan, Haa was once the gateway to the kingdom before motorable roads were built. The valley, guarded by three sacred mountains — Jampelyang, Chana Dorji, and Chenrezig — remains a hidden gem known for its tranquility and authenticity.

The White Temple (Lhakhang Karpo) and Black Temple (Lhakhang Nagpo), both dating back to the 7th century, are Haa’s spiritual landmarks. The region only recently opened to tourism and offers intimate homestays, providing deep cultural immersion.

The scenic drive from Paro crosses Chelela Pass (3,900 meters), Bhutan’s highest motorable pass, offering stunning panoramic views.
