PARO

Paro is Bhutan’s gateway, home to the country’s only international airport. Located just 52 km (about an hour’s drive) from Thimphu, it lies in one of Bhutan’s most fertile and spiritual valleys. Fed by the Pachhu River, Paro produces some of Bhutan’s best rice and is renowned for its rich cultural heritage.

The highlight is the Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) — dramatically perched on a cliffside and a must-visit for every traveler. Paro’s tranquil landscapes, ancient monasteries, and traditional farmhouses make it one of the most captivating valleys in the Himalayas.
